N9NE Agency set to begin work with Northport

In a work session Tuesday night, City Council members met with representatives of the N9NE Agency to discuss a new design for the city’s Web site.

City Administrator Scott Collins said it’s been at least six years since the site’s last revamp.

The site is now organized with links relevant to visitors from left to right near the top of the page and links residents may need placed vertically down the left side of the page.

Robby White, president of Tuscaloosa-based Web designer the N9NE Agency, said the company hopes to clean up the site’s organization and simplify the way users navigate.

‘We want it to be user-friendly instead of having 30 navigation points down the left side of the page where you click one and another 30 options pop out,’ he said.

We had the opportunity to fish a great lake on Saturday, big 4 and 5 lbs Bass, Robby caught the most and Wes came in 2nd. It was fun, but also an interesting analogy for work. You see, this lake had a lot of trees under water and it was easy to get hooked on a branch. It was hard to let your lure go, but at some point the tension became too much and it was necessary to cut the line and let em go, if you wanted to keep fishing. The same can be true with certain projects we work on. It can come to a point where it would be much more beneficial to just cut the project and go on, because the snag will never un-hook….

Whether you’re the type to curl up on the couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s or invite the entire neighborhood over, the fact remains the same: The Oscars are on Sunday. By now, die-hard movie fans are getting behind their favorite movies to win, but something else is occupying the attention of those running what may be the most well-known awards ceremony – the fact that ratings for the show have been at a low the last few years, with ratings reaching a nadir in 2008 and meager gains in viewers in 2009. So, what’s an awards show to do?

Sitting here watching probably the worse movie I have seen in some time (Whiteout). Just checking on the ease of adding a blog with the new iPhone app. Seems to be pretty straight forward.
